“Thank you for applying to the 2011 Nautica NYC Triathlon. Unfortunately, you were not selected in the lottery.”
Well, dear readers, I tried. I was quite ready to do the training and stare down all my triathlon-related anxieties, but I didn’t get in.
But I feel like I’ve broken through some kind of self-imposed mental barrier about triathlons just by entering the lottery, so I’ve told myself that I’ll take part in a sprint-distance triathlon* next spring or summer. At the very least, it will give me something to think about all winter when I’m swimming laps.
Speaking of swimming . . . I have to get ready to go to the pool. Even though I’m not training for anything in particular, the journey to Awesome Town goes on.
